Politically Correct Recommendation Letters

Political correctness may have dulled wit and humor, but with some ingenuity, you can still combine some wit and sarcasm to “politically correct” statements. The following are some examples of politically correct references:

An employee who’s always absent:

“A person like him is hard to find.”

“It seemed his career was just taking off.”

An incompetent employee:

“I refer him with no qualifications whatsoever.”

“There is nothing you can teach him.”

“All in all, I cannot say enough good things about him or recommend him too highly.”

“Waste no time in making him an offer.”

A dishonest employee: “His true ability was deceiving.”

A slacker:

“He doesn’t care how many hours he must put in.”

“You would be fortunate to get this person to work for you.”

“No one would be better for this position.”

An employee who’s not well-liked: “I am pleased to say that he is a former colleague of mine.”

An employee who’s always drunk: “Every hour to him is a happy hour.”
